If I Have Gay Children: Four Promises From A Christian Pastor/Parent | john pavlovitz.

Here’s a courageous perspective on alternative sexuality from an unapologetic Christian and parent.

If you’re too busy to click the link, or just prefer to TL;DR this sort of thing, I’ll sum it up for you:

If it turns out any of my kids are gay, it won’t change how I love them one whit. They will know my love for them is unchanging and unconditional–just like God’s love for me.

He doesn’t even muddy his message with the love the sinner, hate the sin cliche we hear so often from Christians, and which too often means it’s OK to judge if you say you’re doing it from a place of love.

Well said, John. I hope more parents can find the courage to echo you.

I've been a soldier, a dreamer, a working stiff, a leader. A husband, father, example (good and otherwise), and now a survivor. I write about courage, because courage is what enables us to accomplish the impossible. If you draw breath, I love you. If you love in whatever way seems best to you and want others to love in whatever way seems best to them, I am your ally. If you believe someone is less than you because they do not love the way you do, I oppose you. If you see someone as a threat to be abused or destroyed merely because they do not look like you, or love like you, or worship like you, I am your enemy. I am a joyful and courageous man. And I stand with you who love.
