I don’t remember where I first learned about Martha Beck, but I get a daily message of inspiration from her.
Yes, I receive a lot of inspirational messages daily and weekly. For me, a big part of maintaining a positive outlook is consuming positive messages. The Internet makes that easy. Unfortunately, it also makes it easy to consume a lot of negative messages. We make a choice, every time we log on, to consume one or the other. I find I’m much more productive, successful, and…well, happy…when I choose to keep it positive.
This message from Martha resonates beautifully with some of the messages I’ve posted here. Here’s the quote. If you like it, I recommend you click the link above and spend a little time exploring her site, and maybe consider buying one of her books on Amazon.
The difference between success and failure isn’t the absence of fear but the determination to pursue your heart’s desires no matter how scared you are.
From her book Finding Your Own North Star
See, we don’t succeed by not trying because we’re afraid. We succeed because we try–even though we’re afraid.
Sometimes we fail. That’s the hard part. But sometimes, we succeed. And that’s the part that makes all the fear and failure worthwhile.
